Why we exist
Policy debates too often run on assumption, anecdote, or numbers that have drifted far from their sources. The Republic of Ideas returns to the primary evidence — national surveys, peer-reviewed research and government records — and turns it into arguments that policymakers, journalists and citizens can actually use. We publish in-depth reports on the issues where the stakes are highest and the evidence is most contested.
How we work
01Grounded in primary sources. Every headline figure is traced to its origin and cross-checked before we publish. Where a claim cannot be verified, we say so plainly.
02Honest about uncertainty. Models are labelled as models and estimates as estimates. Where credible sources disagree, we report the disagreement rather than adopting the convenient number.
03Independent and non-partisan. We hold no party line and publish no position for hire. The analysis follows the evidence, wherever it leads.
04Written to be read. Technical rigour without the jargon — research a non-specialist can follow and a specialist can trust.
